Thank You Graham, Jason, Joss and Vichhika
as 48 Sophomores turned in their portfolios for review yesterday in 468. This act of kindness and camaraderie is just the kind of spirit we need in our program. I can't tell you how much it meant to me and the rest of the faculty to see your enthusiasm for others who follow you as Seniors!

Monday's Class
I know it was a work day this past monday but here's who showed up. I hope that means that the final critique on Wednesday will be incredible. Don't be late. If you are late or tardy to the final critique you will not receive a grade for the final project. Once I start critique that is considered late. See course syllabus for further information if you have questions!

Congrats to Evan Luza: A Recipient of The Dean's Art Award 2015
Congratulations to Evan Luza!
This just in! Evan won 2nd place in this year's Dean's Art Award! There were only 2 winners for this cash award and Evan's work will be on display throughout his senior year in the Dean's office where they have an exhibition gallery set up for the public to visit. The committee loved all 5 illustrations he created for the theme "Momentum" and has asked if they could display all 5 works in the Dean's Office throughout 2015-2016. Evan currently has work on display from this past year in the Dean's office where he was given Honorable Mention.
Again, talent and creativity doesn't go unnoticed and is ultimately rewarded through hard work, dedication, passion, talent and persistence. Congrats again Evan!

Junior Design Majors Rocked the House at Juried Student Exhibition
Graphic
Designers Rule at GSU!
I couldn't be more proud of all of you and the entire class in how all of you have progressed this past year with such verve and talent. It's certainly a class that you should be proud of and this is only the beginning. You have an entire senior year to raise the bar even higher for yourself and others. It's simply amazing.
Congrats to Graham Robson for receiving The Susan Babush Scholarship in Graphic Design; Katie Welch for receiving The Andrew West Memorial Scholarship; Jonathan Splitlog for receiving The Mark Phillips Scholarship; Joss Wakamo for receiving The 2015 Graphic Design Faculty Award; and Caitlin Joyce for being a nominee for the Dean Dwyer Award; and to all the other graphic designers who were a part of this years successful Juried Student Exhibition. *Thanks to Paige Taylor for this photo!
